Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome! I believe “Hardships are a detour not a dead end” so I thank you for having the strength to reach out.
I started working with most in need populations while attending California Lutheran University, where I graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy. I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California. Working as a school based-counselor in ventura county school system and primary clinician in psychiatric, I have experienced the complexities of family relationships, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, phase of life changes, work related issues, motivation, self-esteem, adjustment disorders and of course persistent diagnosis as well such as Depression. I am compassionate for how we experience the world as an individual and in the collective.
I am a person-centered therapist who uses an integrated approach to working with individuals. This allows for a more personal experience instead of the same set curriculum for all. Even though I pull knowledge from all theories and practices, I use Family Systems Theory, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory and Mindfulness practices often. I can also help you strengthen coping skills, life skills, independent living skills and awareness or insight skills.
I appreciate Carl Jung’s perspective that there is not a linear path in life or in psychology. We often need to look at life and self from different angles and with many different strategies. I honor your consideration of having me as part of your life and space. I look forward to working with you!

Carrie Bican welcomes people who are navigating difficult changes, holding to the belief that hardships are a detour rather than a dead end. She thanks individuals for their courage in reaching out and offers a compassionate, grounded approach to therapy.
She earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy from California Lutheran University and began working with high-need populations while attending school. Carrie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California; this credential indicates she is qualified to provide marriage and family therapy and is recorded under license CA LMFT 108224. Over the course of nine years she has served as a school-based counselor in the Ventura County school system and as a primary clinician in psychiatric settings, gaining experience with family dynamics, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, life phase transitions, work-related difficulties, motivation and self-esteem concerns, adjustment disorders, and persistent diagnoses such as depression.
Her practice is person-centered and integrative, allowing treatment to be tailored to each individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum. She frequently draws from Family Systems Theory, Solution-Focused methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and mindfulness practices. Alongside therapeutic work, she helps clients build coping strategies, life skills, independent living skills, and greater self-awareness.
Carrie values Carl Jung’s idea that life and psychological growth are rarely linear, and she uses that perspective to explore different angles and strategies with clients. She honors those who consider her as a therapist and looks forward to the opportunity to work together.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. People can choose the communication method that works best for them – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it simpler to weave therapy into a busy schedule.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. This combination of accessibility, modality choice, and professional care makes online therapy a practical option for many seeking support.
