Hello there! My name is Ariana, I am a qualified & professionally accredited counsellor with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (PNCPS Acc. Dip. Couns.) and I provide Humanistic therapy to individual adults over video or live chat.
I specialise in open-ended, explorative therapy to help you discern your feelings, your memories, the unconscious, and your relationships to help you understand how all of this combines to create the person you are today, and the person in which you hope to become.
I hope that as your counsellor I can facilitate the exploration of who you are and what you want out of your life, while also providing you with a confidential, non-judgmental, and accepting environment.
I cannot promise that the exploration of the self is a simple task, but you will not be alone when doing so.

WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a form of talking therapy in which we explore your thoughts and feelings related to something that you feel is affecting you & your everyday life.
Counselling can mean something different to all of us, but people often find counselling helpful when they feel they have nobody else to share their private thoughts with, or when they want a non-judgmental space to explore their feelings. My role as a counsellor is to listen with a kind and empathetic manner to support you in your journey of self-discovery.
As a counsellor my role is not to provide you with advice or to tell you what to do as I am a great believer in being in charge of your own life, however what I can do is offer you a listening ear and a caring approach so that we may explore your feelings together.
You may feel all kinds of different emotions in counselling, some of which may feel uncomfortable or challenging to you at times, but that is totally normal. Counselling here on BetterHelp can give you a discreet space to look at what is troubling you and to offer encouragement in exploring the root cause of those issues.

AVAILABILITY:
+ Please be aware that I cannot promise the same day/time each week due to my varied work schedule. I am more than happy to work with you in finding a day/time that will suit the both of us each week, so please feel free to ask!
+ I also offer either 30 or 45 minute sessions depending on your needs.
+ I endeavor to respond to messages in a timely manner, but if you or someone else is in a mental health crisis then please contact NHS 111 (selecting option 2), or dialling 999 if it is a medical emergency. I do not offer an emergency service.
+ I hold a basic DBS check and am registered with the ICO.

Practical arrangements include the option of 30 or 45 minute sessions and a varied schedule that may not allow the same day and time each week – she is willing to collaborate to find suitable weekly appointments. Messaging between sessions is available if required. Ariana endeavours to respond to messages promptly but does not provide an emergency service; in a mental health crisis she asks people to contact NHS 111 (select option 2) or dial 999 for a medical emergency.
