Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am Andrea Ryan, a licensed professional counselor with a master’s level education in the state of Texas. In addition to my professional degree, I have studied and become certified in Traumatic Stress Studies with The Trauma Center at JRI through Bessel Van der Kolk. I have worked both in a behavioral hospital with inpatient and outpatient clients, and as an independent counselor in private practice for years. If it is a part of the human experience in mental health, I have most likely addressed it.
I offer you an empathic, supportive, in-the-moment, and non-judgmental style of therapy to help with depression, anxiety, stress management, traumatic experiences, mood swings, women’s concerns, interpersonal relationship issues, personal or professional growth, as well as grief and loss. I have vast experience in assisting with the development of the necessary coping skills, relaxation techniques, yoga/body integration, and self-regulation techniques to positively improve your relationships at home and work. I help you utilize your strengths and develop new skills to integrate the struggles you are experiencing. I bring scientifically supported techniques to bear on your individual situation to discover ways to work through any challenge you meet. I recognize that a person is not a collection of problems to be addressed, but rather a whole, complex, and beautiful individual expression of life. Therefore, I prefer to work collaboratively with your whole self. Feel free to express yourself in a safe, confidential session with me.
I look forward to walking this path with you. I see myself as a fellow traveler alongside you on your life journey. I believe that all experiences make us who we are; and that the point is the journey not the destination. As J. R. R. Tolkien noted, “Not all those who wander are lost.” I am honored in your decision to allow me to assist you as you grow and develop through the challenges that prompted you to seek therapy.

Andrea Bray Ryan is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Texas who completed master’s-level training. She holds a Texas professional counselor license (LPC 83457) and has earned certification in Traumatic Stress Studies through The Trauma Center at JRI with Bessel van der Kolk.
Across six years of clinical work, Andrea has served people in a behavioral hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient clients and has maintained an independent private practice. If an element of the human experience falls under mental health, she has most likely worked with it in her clinical practice.
Her style of therapy is empathic, supportive, present-focused, and non-judgmental. Andrea works with issues such as depression, anxiety, stress management, traumatic experiences, mood swings, women’s concerns, relationship difficulties, personal and professional growth, and grief and loss. She uses evidence-informed techniques and assists clients in developing coping skills, relaxation practices, yoga and body integration, and self-regulation strategies to foster healthier functioning at home and at work.
Andrea approaches each person as a whole – a complex and expressive individual – and prefers a collaborative process that engages the whole self rather than treating isolated symptoms. She helps clients build on existing strengths while acquiring new skills to address the challenges they face.
She regards herself as a fellow traveler alongside those she supports and values the therapeutic journey as part of personal growth. Andrea is honored when someone chooses her to assist them through the difficulties that prompted them to seek therapy. As J. R. R. Tolkien wrote, “Not all those who wander are lost.”
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – individuals can connect in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if someone feels a different fit would be better, it is possible to change therapists at any time. For many people, remote sessions offer an accessible and effective way to pursue mental health support.
