Mandy Cross uses an integrated counselling approach, initially drawing on Person-centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). With 11 years of practice she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge through Continuing Professional Development.
Her experience includes supporting people with depression, anxiety including obsessive-compulsive tendencies, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence, parenting and career challenges, ADHD and suicidal thinking. She has also worked with many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
Her therapeutic style is warm and interactive; she treats each person with respect, sensitivity and compassion and prefers collaborative work rather than applying stigmatizing labels. Conversations and treatment plans are tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.
Mandy recognises that reaching out for change takes courage and she aims to support and empower people as they take those steps. She looks forward to working with anyone ready to begin that process.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or coping with life changes - online therapy has been shown to work as effectively as traditional in-person sessions. It can be an appropriate option for people seeking support for these kinds of issues.
A key advantage of online work is flexibility. People can choose the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to connect in a way that feels most comfortable.
Therapists who offer online services are licensed professionals, and it is possible to change therapists if a different fit is needed. For many, remote therapy provides a practical, accessible route to get the help they need.
