About

Life is never easy or straightforward and in this stressful and pressured world it often throws challenges at us. Frequently we overcome them but difficulties sometimes arise that leave us struggling to cope, confused and alone and not knowing which way to turn. If you are in one of those situations then help is at hand. All you need is a friendly face, someone who will listen in a non-judgemental manner and who is there to support you.

My name is Alexia and I am a qualified integrative Psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am an accredited member of the BACP. I have nine years of experience working with individual clients including adults, young people aged 14-25, University Students and couples; both on a long and short-term basis. My areas of expertise include Anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, anger management, addiction, trauma, sexual violence and abuse, domestic violence, bereavement, cancer and terminal illness, suicide prevention, crisis intervention and sexuality/gender issues.

I have extensive knowledge and expertise in providing therapies including Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused and Gestalt, but I mainly work from a humanistic and person-centred orientation.

I believe that the key to successful counselling is building a trusting, open and honest relationship between the two of us. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which you can explore your issues, past or present and together we can work to find ways of making changes by looking at available options and resources.

Everyone is unique and so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. I work from a non-directive approach and never rush you. I allow you to lead in your own time, emphasising my belief in you that you have the ability to find your own solutions and direction. My non-judgmental attitude, active listening and reflection skills help increase your feelings of self-worth and encourage you to learn to trust in yourself, which promotes growth and change. I employ empathy as a way of showing you that I appreciate your struggles, but never confess to understanding or knowing how you feel, because every one of you has experiences exclusive and personal to you. I believe that everyone is equal and my work ethic reflects this by treating you with respect, value and acceptance, It takes strength and courage to ask for help, but I am here to support & empower you in your journey.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues or navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. It can be a suitable option for people seeking support for everyday mental health challenges.

A major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety of options makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and life commitments.

Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and individuals can change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy provides a practical and accessible route to consistent therapeutic support.
