She has worked with people from a variety of lifestyles and cultures and brings experience as a teacher as well as a clinician. Her work includes counseling individuals, couples, families, and groups, and she draws from multiple therapy modalities such as person-centered approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapies. Laura treats a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and pet loss – a special area of interest because of its unique emotional impact. She also addresses compassion fatigue with a special focus on veterinarians and staff as well as others in helping roles, addictions and co-dependency, eating disorders and disordered eating, ADHD, anger management, intimacy and relationship issues, family conflicts, parenting challenges, LGBT-related concerns, trauma and abuse, self-esteem struggles, career difficulties, motivational coaching, and life transitions for seniors.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
A major benefit of online sessions is flexibility – people can connect in the way that fits their schedules and comfort, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if someone wants a different therapeutic fit they can switch therapists at any time.
