Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome! I am Sofia, a fully qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist & Counsellor (MA) working with adults and children. I am a Register Member of the BACP and a BPC Scholar. I am also a BPS Accredited Psychologist. I am originally from Greece that lived also in Portugal for a while and I now live in the UK. Wherever I have lived, I have always experienced a profound commonality between people. The fact that none of us is immune to emotional pain. And that it is never easy to bear that pain alone. The traumatic experiences, the anxiety, the intense emotions or grief. Sharing the burden of these experiences can make a difference. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
The psychotherapeutic treatment I provide is grounded in a psychodynamic framework, with a particular focus on unconscious communication, as well as the dynamics of transference and countertransference that may arise within the therapeutic relationship.
I work mainly relationally as I believe that as social beings we are constantly shaped by our social contacts. My desire is the therapeutic relationship to be a model of a healthy attachement with the opportunity for a corrective emotional experience and unltimately a secure base from which my clients can explore the world.
I understand that seeking counselling can bring feelings of anxiety or fear—but it also carries hope. By building a genuine and consistent relationship rooted in curiosity and presence, we can work together to bridge past, present, and future. Through this connection, we can heal past wounds and create the foundation for healthier, fulfilling relationships.

Sofia Korachai is a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor (MA). She is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a BPC Scholar and a BPS-accredited psychologist. She works with both adults and children and brings three years of clinical experience to her practice.
Originally from Greece and having spent time living in Portugal, Sofia now practices in the United Kingdom. Across these different settings she has observed a shared human experience – no one is immune to emotional pain – and she aims to accompany people who find that pain hard to carry alone.
Her work is grounded in a psychodynamic framework with close attention to unconscious communication and to the dynamics of transference and countertransference that can appear in therapy. Sofia practises mainly from a relational stance, believing that people are continually shaped by their social contacts. She aims for the therapeutic relationship to model healthy attachment, offering a corrective emotional experience and a secure base from which clients can explore their lives.
Sofia has experience supporting people with relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and depression. She strives to create an open, non-judgmental space where thoughts and feelings can be shared freely. Sofia recognises that beginning counselling can bring anxiety as well as hope; by building a steady, curious presence she works with clients to connect past, present and future, heal old wounds and lay foundations for more fulfilling relationships.
