Hi there, my name is David and I hope the following read enables you to make an informed decision about whether, counselling with me would be a good fit for you.
I firmly believe that the cornerstone of any therapeutic alliance, starts with a trusting and solid relationship, I want you to feel safe, secure and comfortable in what can be, for some, quite an intimidating environment when one first starts their counselling sessions.
Anything you and I will do, will be done collaboratively and at your own pace, I would like to cultivate and earn your trust so that our therapeutic relationship is congruent, transparent and meaningful.
My core principles of empathy, respect and congruence will encourage you to engage in the process at your own pace – whether this is short term or longer-term work. I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I can be flexible, drawing on different approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, any of which can be tailored to your individual needs.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias, trauma, low self-esteem and substance misuse; however, I can also help you focus on personal growth and helping you to make sense of your life experience and current circumstances.
Your counselling sessions will be held in a space where you are able to touch on the issues you may have repressed or just do not feel comfortable talking about.
Whatever your situation is and however it has affected you, I am here to offer you a place in time that is yours, where you can offload and regain control over the direction of your life.

Many people ask whether connecting with a therapist online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or coping with life changes, online therapy has been found to be similarly effective to traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One major advantage is flexibility – clients can choose the mode of contact that suits them best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to engage in ways that feel most comfortable.
All participating practitioners are licensed professionals, and individuals have the option to change therapists if they decide they need a different fit. For many people, online work offers a practical, accessible route to receive therapeutic support.
