Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and an International Drug and Alcohol Counselor in Iowa as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I have 20 years of experience in the counseling field, having worked in the school settings, hospital environments, residential treatment centers and outpatient behavioral health clinics.
I would describe my style as caring and supportive. I use a combination of different tools and therapies to meet the individual needs of each person that I work with. I view each session like a puzzle as you lay the pieces out there and we work together to put it together in a way that makes sense to you. I use a variety of tools to help you feel comfortable, accepted and understood. I use education, history taking, client centered therapy, family systems theory, narrative therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I believe that you are the author of your life story. I see counseling as a way to help you determine when to close a chapter and when to start a new one. I want to help you on your journey to talk about your options and make changes when you feel the need to gain a new perspective on your journey. Life is not a race, it is a journey, Each of us is simply a work in progress, trying to learn from our past so we can write our best life story.
I look forward to working with you and learning your story.

Christine Ewald is a licensed mental health counselor based in Iowa who also holds a professional counselor license in Arizona and training as an international drug and alcohol counselor. She brings 11 years of clinical experience and has worked in school settings, hospital environments, residential treatment centers, and outpatient behavioral health clinics.
Her therapeutic style is caring and supportive, combining different approaches to meet each person’s individual needs. Christine often describes the work as assembling a puzzle – the client brings the pieces and she helps arrange them in a way that makes sense for that person. She uses education and thorough history-taking alongside client-centered techniques, family systems ideas, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR when appropriate.
Christine believes people are the authors of their own life stories and views counseling as a space to consider when to close a chapter and when to start a new one. She helps clients explore options and gain fresh perspectives as they make changes at their own pace.
She specializes in a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, depression, LGBT-related issues, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related concerns, sleep disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue. Christine also has experience working with conditions such as borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, and codependency, as well as career and school stressors.
She looks forward to working with clients and learning their stories.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and practice have shown that, for these issues, remote therapy often delivers comparable outcomes.
One major benefit is flexibility. People can choose the way they connect that feels most comfortable – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All participating professionals are licensed therapists, and clients have the option to switch providers if they want a different therapeutic fit. Online therapy can make consistent support more accessible while preserving the clinical standards you would expect from licensed professionals.
