Lisa Wan

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor who is registered with the British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework set by the BACP, and receive monthly clinical supervision. I am DBS and GDPR compliant. Over the past 7 years I have provided counselling for Leicester Woman’s Counselling Centre, and First Step – who support male survivors of sexual abuse and rape. I have vast experience of working with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma, and regularly attend CPD workshops and specialised training in order to support and enhance my practice.

I originally qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and spent many years helping my clients improve their general wellbeing. Over time I began to notice that although my clients found the physical treatments relaxing, it was the ‘talk time’ that was proving to be as equally beneficial to how they felt afterwards. Without realising it I had provided them with a safe, empathic, caring, non-judgemental space where they felt comfortable to explore the aspects of their life that were troubling them – in essence they were experiencing the core counselling conditions. Since initially qualifying as a person-centred counsellor, I would now describe my approach as integrative, and always holistically tailored to my clients needs.

Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. Flexibility is one of its key advantages – you can connect in the way that suits you best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life. Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and you can change to a different practitioner at any time if you feel a different fit would serve you better.
