My name is Heather and I am a non- judgemental, empathetic and inclusive counsellor. I love my work and aim to help people feel empowered and happier in their lives, in order to make lasting changes. I have nearly 30 years experience working with Psychology, theoretically as a lecturer and practically as a social worker, mental health worker, SEN teaching assistant and counsellor. I have worked with children and young people as well as adults in a variety of settings.
My underlying belief is Person Centred , in that each person is an expert on themselves and their lives. However, I work as an Integrative counsellor, which means I use techniques from a variety of therapies, such as CBT, family systems therapy and psychodynamic therapy.. Everyone is unique and so the counselling you receive is just about you. We will work together to enable you to feel heard, safe and understood in a confidential manner.
I have worked with depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal ideation, insecure attachment, phobias, addiction, autism, ADHD , trauma, loss, domestic violence, sexual abuse, anger, relationship problems OCD, eating disorders, diversity issues and gender dysphoria.
I believe that everyone deserves a positive, fulfilled life and I hope that by taking the huge step of asking for help, we can work together to achieve this.

Heather’s underlying belief is Person Centred – she views each person as the expert on their own life. At the same time she works as an Integrative counsellor, drawing on techniques from therapies such as CBT, family systems therapy and psychodynamic therapy to shape an approach that fits each individual.
