Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My Offer To You:
Being heard, understood, believed in and supported. We all need this kind of support at some point in our lives. This is my offer to you.
Please note: if you prefer written rather than telephone or video as a primary means of support then please seek an alternative therapist. My primary therapeutic intervention is via video or audio with occasional messaging support.
My Experience:
I have worked in a large corporate employee assistance programme (welfare service) offering counselling. During this time I worked with a range of mental health issues from stress, anxiety, depression, relationships through to self harm, suicide ideation, gender, autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia and more. I have a particular interest, and experience working with, clients who have later in life diagnosis (or suspect they might have) ADD/ADHD/dyslexia/neurodiversity. My private practise is located in Cheltenham and Gloucester (UK) but I offer telephone and video therapy to anyone over 18yrs old in the UK. I am also a qualified and accredited Executive Coach who can help you be your best self. Packages are available upon request.
How Our Session Might Feel:
I would hope our session might feel warm, compassionate, non-judgemental with an empathetic relationship being felt between us. I believe that if we can achieve this in our sessions then you will have everything you need to live effectively with what you bring. Our work could, if you wanted it to, extend into mindfulness and spirituality as I have experience in this field along with meditation practices. Most of my clients are longer term (1-2yrs) but many feel they only need shorter intervention (6-12 sessions). I believe and trust your own wisdom and that you will decide which works best for you.
Qualified | Registered | Accredited Therapist:
I am a qualified and accredited counsellor (MNCS accred) registered through the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP reg) which means I am held on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register thus ensuring protection to the public and helping to ensure their health and wellbeing. I have undertaken additional specific training to work online and my training and experience has been recognised with the ACTO (Association of Counselling Therapy Online) registry at level 1. My own clinical supervision, a mandatory requirement for registered therapists, sees me meeting a very experienced psychotherapist monthly. My supervisor is an ordained priest, Zen Master and Reiki Master which sees me be curious about my own sense of self in ways most people never comprehend (a transpersonal dimension). I feel this shapes my practise as it influences my presence with you, the client and my ability to connect with you in a deep and meaningful way.
Recent Continuous Professional Development:
Recent professional development has been about working with clients living with neurodiversity: autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia etc. I have also completed the necessary training and accreditation to be a level 1 member of the Association of Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
Please note I only work with individual UK based adult (18yrs +) clients.

Martyn Pars offers a space where people can be heard, understood, believed in and supported. He delivers most therapy via video or audio sessions, supplemented occasionally by messaging support, and asks that anyone who prefers written communication as their primary means of support seek an alternative therapist.
He has four years of clinical experience and has worked within a large corporate employee assistance programme providing counselling. During that time he supported people with a wide range of mental health concerns including stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues, as well as cases involving self-harm, suicidal ideation, gender issues, autism, ADD/ADHD and dyslexia.
He has a particular interest in and experience with clients who receive a later-in-life diagnosis or suspect they may have ADD/ADHD, dyslexia or other aspects of neurodiversity. His private practice is based in Cheltenham and Gloucester in the United Kingdom, and he offers telephone and video therapy to adults aged 18 and over across the UK.
In addition to counselling, Martyn is a qualified and accredited Executive Coach and can work with clients on performance and development; packages are available on request. He aims for sessions to feel warm, compassionate and non-judgemental, built around an empathetic therapeutic relationship that supports clients to live effectively with what they bring.
Work with Martyn can, if a client wishes, include mindfulness, spirituality and meditation practices drawn from his experience in these areas. Many of his clients engage in longer-term work of one to two years, though some prefer shorter interventions of six to twelve sessions, and he trusts each person to decide what suits them best.
Martyn is a qualified and accredited counsellor (MNCS accred) and is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP reg), which places him on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register. He has completed additional training for online work and holds recognition on the Association of Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) registry at level 1.
He receives monthly clinical supervision from a very experienced psychotherapist who is an ordained priest, Zen Master and Reiki Master, and says this transpersonal dimension influences his presence and his ability to connect with clients. Recent continuing professional development has focused on working with neurodiversity – including autism, ADD/ADHD and dyslexia – and on maintaining his ACTO level 1 accreditation. He works only with individual UK-based adult clients aged 18 and over.
Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or coping with life changes, online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person work for many individuals.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to access support from different locations.
Each participating therapist is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they feel another approach would be a better fit. Online therapy offers practical access to trained therapists while retaining the core therapeutic relationship that helps people address everyday and longer-term challenges.
