Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Mariam, and I am a licensed Person-Centered Therapist based in the UK.
My therapy approach is warm, encouraging and empowering. I strive to create a safe, open and non-judgmental space where you can freely share your thoughts and feelings.
I have experience supporting adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, family conflicts, trauma, loss and loneliness.
I also specialise in culturally sensitive counselling for Black, Asian, Middle Eastern and Minority women. My work often supports those who have experienced different forms of abuse and harmful practices, such as emotional or physical abuse, sexual violence, forced marriage, coercive control, female genital mutilation and honour-based violence.
As a Christian, I can also integrate Biblical principles and Christian values into therapy if this is something you would like, ensuring sessions are tailored to support both your personal and spiritual needs.
I believe you are the expert of your own story, and that you hold the strengths and resources to overcome the challenges you face. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, encouragement and the tools you need to move forward.
Taking the first step towards healing and a more fulfilling life takes courage and I want you to know you don’t have to do it alone.
If you would like to work with me, please feel free to message me or check my availability to book a session at a time that works best for you.

Mariam Nakabugo is a licensed Person-Centred Therapist based in the United Kingdom with 10 years of experience. Her work is rooted in a warm, encouraging and empowering approach that aims to provide a safe, open and non-judgmental space where clients can speak freely about their thoughts and feelings.
She supports adults with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, family conflict, trauma, grief, loneliness and challenges related to life changes. Mariam also works with issues such as addictions, intimacy-related difficulties, anger, career concerns and compassion fatigue.
Mariam offers culturally sensitive counselling tailored for Black, Asian, Middle Eastern and other minority women, and has experience working with people who have experienced different forms of abuse and harmful practices – for example emotional or physical abuse, sexual violence, forced marriage, coercive control, female genital mutilation and honour-based violence.
As a Christian, she can incorporate Biblical principles and Christian values into therapy when this is requested, ensuring sessions address both personal and spiritual needs. Her person-centred orientation means she views the client as the expert in their own life and focuses on supporting their strengths and resources.
Mariam describes her role as walking alongside clients to offer support, encouragement and practical tools to help them move forward. Taking the first step toward healing can be difficult, and she aims to make that step feel more manageable. If someone wishes to work with her, they are invited to message her or check her availability to book a session at a suitable time.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most situations.
One key benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. This approach makes professional support more accessible while maintaining the standards expected of therapeutic work.
