Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am licensed in Maryland with 23 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse in individual modality, & career difficulties. I work primarily with married couples, providing both premarital and post-marital services in a specific protocol. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am glad you are getting started! The purpose of my services is to provide counseling and treatment, however I am unable to provide services of disability related, as I am not trained, certified nor an expert in this area. As a final note, please understand that IF you are driving a vehicle (or riding) and not parked, or have a third party present with you, are sitting in a public restaurant or other public area, or using alcohol or other substances during our session and possibility you may be charged for a missed appointment, I will respectfully notate a missed appointment – no-show and request for your session to be scheduled at a time when you are ready for your MTG. I request for you to be online, at the time of your scheduled meeting, and to be wearing headphones, in order to start on time. This is to prevent delay and out of respect for each other but also any appointments scheduled after your mtg. Further, I request for individuals and couples to strive to use headphones that are not Bluetooth, but are wired, for your protection of your privacy. On a note of clarification, as this format is not conducive to certain issues, this provider will refer to either another provider or a higher level of care. For example, if there is any emotional, physical/DV, sexual or financial abuse, high conflict or fights, which includes any potentiality of violence. On this forum I offer Brief Solution Focused Therapy and not long term therapy. If a couple is trying to determine whether or not to continue the relationship or marriage, this is better served with a different type of service, perhaps mediation, chaplain services, or even an individual modality. As this may be against the Code of Ethics, this provider cannot assist with determining whether to continue a relationship or marriage. Thank you, in advance, for understanding the nature of my services and for sharing your journey with me.

Dr. Lynn Duffy is a licensed clinician in Maryland with 23 years of professional experience. She holds professional clinical credentials listed as MD LCPC LC1446 and brings a focus on relationship concerns, trauma and abuse, grief, career difficulties, intimacy-related issues, sleep disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem, coping with life changes, and coaching.
Dr. Duffy works primarily with married couples and provides both premarital and post-marital services using a specific protocol. She also offers individual work for family conflict and trauma and tailors conversations and treatment plans to each person or couple, guided by respect, sensitivity, and compassion. She practices Brief Solution-Focused Therapy rather than long-term therapy and adapts her approach to the needs presented in a short-term format.
The purpose of Dr. Duffy’s services is to provide counseling and treatment. She is not able to provide disability-related services, as she is not trained, certified, or an expert in that area. For situations that require a different level of care or a different modality, she will refer clients to another provider or a higher level of care. Examples that prompt referral include any emotional, physical, sexual, or financial abuse, domestic violence, high-conflict fights, or any situation with a potential for violence.
Dr. Duffy asks clients to join sessions while parked and without a third party present, and requests that they avoid being in public places or under the influence of alcohol or substances during a meeting. If a client is driving, riding in a moving vehicle, has a third party present, or is in a public space during a scheduled session, she will note the appointment as a no-show and request that it be rescheduled for a time when the client can fully engage. She also asks clients to be online at the scheduled start time and to wear headphones to prevent delays and to respect subsequent appointments – wired headphones are preferred over Bluetooth for privacy considerations.
If a couple is trying to determine whether to continue a relationship or marriage, Dr. Duffy will recommend alternative services such as mediation, chaplain services, or individual therapy, since assisting clients with deciding whether to continue a relationship or marriage may be outside the appropriate scope of service. She appreciates the courage it takes to begin therapy and welcomes those who are ready to start their work together.
