Jeanne Johnson

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

My what (short bio):
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a Master of Science in Education and am currently working towards my Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. As a Therapist, Company Culture Cultivator, and Leadership Development Facilitator, I work to support others in living the lives they desire. This intersection of professional development & job training and an individual’s happiness & life satisfaction is the focus of my current studies. It is my hope that not only will our personal but also our professional lives, will create an environment that allows us to not simply survive but thrive.

My Why:
I always thought I would climb the corporate ladder. Yet as my life progressed, I constantly found myself providing support for what was stressing and distressing those around me. I enrolled at UPenn to learn more about people and the human condition. I found that we are more alike than we think, capable of more than we try, and more courageous than we know. It is my goal to help all of my clients identify the lives they desire to lead and support them in living that life.

My How:
My sessions are CBT-based with a few other ideologies sprinkled in. It is my belief if we can gain awareness of our thoughts, we can better identify our feelings then we are able to choose our actions. I give my clients homework and use our sessions to reflect on present situations impacting their lives. We occasionally discuss the past and how it is impacting the present, after all, we are the sum of our experiences. To ignore the past is to ignore the foundation our life was built on.

The two quotes below do a great job of capturing my thoughts on therapy and its impact on our lives.

“Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced,” – James Baldwin
“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking”. – Albert Einstein

About

Jeanne Johnson earned a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. She works as a therapist, company culture cultivator, and leadership development facilitator, supporting people as they shape the lives they want.

Her current academic work examines the intersection of professional development and individual life satisfaction, focusing on how job training and workplace culture influence overall happiness. Jeanne aims for both personal and professional spheres to create conditions where people do more than survive – they thrive.

Though she once expected to climb the corporate ladder, Jeanne found herself repeatedly offering support to those around her during times of stress and distress. Studying at UPenn deepened her interest in people and the human condition and reinforced her belief that individuals are more alike, more capable, and more courageous than they often realize. Her goal is to help clients identify the lives they want and to support them in living those lives.

Her clinical approach is grounded in cognitive-behavioral techniques with additional theoretical influences woven in. Jeanne emphasizes increasing awareness of thoughts so clients can better recognize feelings and make intentional choices about actions. Sessions typically include reflection on present circumstances, practical homework, and, when relevant, exploration of how past experiences shape current patterns – because the past builds the foundation of our lives.

She is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Texas (license number 75105) and brings seven years of experience to her work. Learn more at www.JtheTherapist.com

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.

One major benefit of remote counseling is flexibility – you can connect in the way that fits your schedule and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.

Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and you have the option to switch providers if you feel another fit would be better. Online therapy can be a practical and effective route to support for many common mental health and life concerns.
