Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Trudie and I am registered as a counsellor in the UK , to work with individuals over the age of 18 years.
I have worked as a qualified and registered counsellor, with clients, both in my private practice and in a clinical setting for six years and before that I was a bereavement support volunteer, which is what led to me training as a counsellor.
During that time I have worked with clients who have experienced a wide range of difficulties including, bereavement, relational problems, disability, health problems, anxiety, stress, low self esteem.
Nothing is too big, or too small to bring to counselling, whatever is concerning you, will concern me too. My initial training was in person-centred counselling, but having had further training, in Attachment, CBT and Psychodynamic counselling, so now encompass different theories tailoring them to you and what you bring.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment, in a confidential space.
As a counsellor, who has experienced counselling herself, I know how difficult just taking that first step and contacting a counsellor can be. It takes courage to open up to someone about what’s going on for us in our lives.
If you are ready to take those first steps, I am here to support you and look forward to working with you.

Trudie Johnston is a registered counsellor in the United Kingdom who works with individuals aged 18 and over. She has practised as a qualified and registered counsellor for six years in both private practice and clinical settings, and before training she volunteered in bereavement support – an experience that prompted her to become a counsellor.
Throughout her work she has supported people dealing with bereavement, relational problems, disability, health concerns, anxiety, stress and low self-esteem. She believes no concern is too large or too small to bring to counselling and adapts her approach to suit what each person brings.
Her initial training was in person-centred counselling, and she has since undertaken further training in Attachment, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic counselling, allowing her to draw on different approaches as appropriate. She aims to offer an open, safe space where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment, working with clients in a confidential environment.
Having experienced counselling herself, Trudie understands how difficult that first step of reaching out can be. When someone is ready to begin, she is available to support them and looks forward to working together.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Evidence suggests that for these typical issues, remote sessions achieve comparable outcomes to face-to-face work.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to engage in the way that feels most comfortable.
Therapists providing online sessions are licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed it is possible to change therapists at any time. Online therapy offers an accessible route to support for many people seeking help with everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
