Toby “Benjamin” Stimpson is a qualified counsellor with six years of practice and over 1,400 hours of direct client work. Toby supports adults aged 18 and over in identifying and understanding dysfunctional patterns in relationships, exploring their relationship with themselves, and processing feelings that come from not fitting into their environment.
Toby takes an integrative approach, drawing on multiple therapeutic modalities to shape interventions around each person’s needs. Toby has practised in both Canada and the United Kingdom, bringing international experience to the therapeutic work.
Areas of focus include stress, anxiety, intimacy-related issues, self-esteem and coaching, with particular expertise supporting LGBTQ+ and gay clients. Toby also works with neurodiverse people, self-identified geek communities, immigrants - especially North Americans living in the UK - and those from alternative spiritualities. Toby identifies as a non-religious, liberal therapist.
For many common concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote work is flexibility - people can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether that is by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options often makes it easier to include therapy alongside other commitments.
Sessions are delivered by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they would like a different fit.
