Hello, and thank you for viewing my profile.
My name is Tara and I am a qualified integrative counsellor in the UK with 7 years professional work experience.
I work with clients on various issues ranging from stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, guilt, rejection, abandonment, relationship challenges, becoming a parent, grief, loss, addiction, self-worth, self esteem, boundaries, compassion fatigue, and being a carer.
I also have a strong interest in the mind-body connection.
Stress alone from various root causes and sources can impact the body as well as the mind, and sometimes this can show up as aches and pains, troubled sleeping and effect our behaviour towards others. This can then seem like a never ending cycle which causes more stress.
During sessions I aim to provide a safe and confidential space, where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted.
We all experience life in different ways, have different perspectives, and different needs, therefore I work with clients using various therapeutic modalities (i.e. humanistic, transpersonal/spiritual, person centred, psychodynamic, creative, and others), in order to work with you in the best way possible. I will also work in a more goal orientated way if this is better suited.
I offer long and short term counselling, short being of 4, 6, 8, or 12 sessions.
Sessions start at 9am with limited last sessions at 7 or 8pm.
We can talk about this prior to your sessions starting. At times we can review how therapy is progressing for you and see if any adjustments are needed. If further sessions are needed then this is available too.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), and bound by their code of ethics, which means I will work within my professional competency.
I look forward to working with you and be part of your therapeutic journey!

Tara Hale is a qualified integrative counsellor based in the United Kingdom with 7 years of professional experience. She works with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, compassion fatigue, addictions, family matters, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, sleep difficulties, parenting, anger, self-esteem and self-worth, career worries, and coping with life changes. She is a female therapist who also supports people facing issues around becoming a parent and being a carer.
She has a strong interest in the mind-body connection and recognises that stress from different root causes can affect both body and mind. This can present as aches and pains, troubled sleep and changes in behaviour towards others, which may create a cycle that increases stress.
In sessions she aims to provide a safe and confidential space where clients can feel seen, heard and accepted. Her practice is integrative, drawing on approaches such as humanistic, transpersonal/spiritual, person centred, psychodynamic and creative methods, and she will adopt a more goal-oriented way of working where that better suits the client.
Tara offers both long and short term counselling, with short programmes available in blocks of 4, 6, 8 or 12 sessions. Appointments generally start at 9am with a limited number of later slots at 7pm or 8pm; scheduling preferences can be discussed before therapy begins and reviewed as therapy progresses. Additional sessions are available if required.
She is a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and works within their code of ethics and her professional competency. She looks forward to working with clients and being part of their therapeutic journey.
