About

Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in the state of North Carolina. If you are looking for an individual who has experience in a variety of service delivery settings, I believe you will find that my clinical experience will meet your needs. Several of the therapeutic techniques I use, include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Reality Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

In my 17 year career as a therapist, I have significant experience working with individuals dealing with mental health diagnoses as well as individuals with substance use disorders. I have provided individual, group, and family counseling as a Substance Abuse Counselor working with opioid addicts using Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT). Also, I have been employed as an Outpatient Therapist providing community based mental health and substance abuse counseling to children, adults, and families. I have extensive experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness as a Community Support Team-Team Lead. I have worked with individuals that were court ordered into substance use treatment; those that required in-patient treatment for mental health and substance use issues; and as a Counselor and Program Manager at a treatment center which provided individual and group counseling for patients receiving MAT.

My specialties include Substance Use Disorders, Stress and Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Motivation, Self-Esteem, and Confidence. I also enjoy working with clients that are experiencing concerns regarding Mood Disorders, Panic Disorders and Panic Attacks, Posttraumatic Stress, Work Place issues, Body Image issues, Chronic Pain Issues and Disability, Infidelity, Self Harm, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Communication Problems, LGBTQ+ issues, and Life Purpose/Life Transition Issues.

I can interact with you in whatever manner you feel most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. However, I am also available to you via telephone, and live chat if that is more comfortable for you. I have availability on weekdays, evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings.

I look forward to working with you!!!

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions – online therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical practice indicate that for these types of issues remote therapy often produces comparable outcomes.

One of the clearest benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their life best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to maintain consistent care without rearranging a full day around appointments.

All therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch to a different therapist if they feel a different fit would be helpful. For many people, the combination of professional training and flexible access makes online therapy a practical and effective way to address everyday mental health concerns.
