Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) to practice in Maryland with 25 years of professional work experience. I am a Veteran and have worked with Veterans, individuals, groups, families, and teens. I also have experience in the legal system as a treatment provider. My expertise is with helping clients cope with addictions and substance use; PTSD, trauma and abuse; stress, anxiety, & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. I also like to meet the client where they are at in their life and treatment will be centered on your goals. This can mean still using substances while working on your addiction goals ie: abstinence is not required; or being anxious and needing short therapy sessions to start. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Susann Adams is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical authorized to practice in Maryland with 25 years of professional experience. She is a Veteran and has extensive experience working with other Veterans as well as individuals, groups, families, and teens.
Her clinical focus includes helping people cope with addictions and substance use, PTSD and trauma from abuse, persistent stress and anxiety, and depression. She has also served as a treatment provider within the legal system.
Susann approaches care from the view that each person is the expert on their own story and comes with strengths that support change. She meets clients where they are and centers treatment on the goals they bring – for example, clients may work on addiction-related goals without requiring immediate abstinence, or begin with shorter sessions if anxiety makes longer meetings difficult.
Taking the first step to begin therapy often takes courage, and Susann acknowledges and supports that decision as clients start their work toward coping and recovery.
Many people wonder whether virtual therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – individuals can connect in the format that fits their life and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule or to begin care when leaving home is difficult.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and if someone wants a different therapeutic fit, they can switch therapists at any time. Online therapy can be a practical option for many people seeking support for everyday mental health concerns and life adjustments.
