Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a qualified counsellor and I believe that counselling should be accessible to all. I have experience of supporting people with a variety of complex issues, ranging from depression to domestic abuse. I am also a disabled mixed race mother and I have been through a lot in my own life.
EXPRERIENCED RACISM OR DISABILITY HATE CRIME?
Race and Disability are 2 of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, but inequality, discrimination and Hate Crime are still far too prevalent today, which we have especially seen and felt recently. After a hate crime, the focus is usually on the physical safety, and maybe the pursuit of justice. But not enough attention is given to impact on our mental health.
WHAT I CAN OFFER
Racism has an impact on a personal, social and an intergenerational level. I aim not to shy away from supporting the client to explore race related issues, such as the sort of stereotypes imposed upon us by others and the ones we internalise. By acknowledging these with client, we can then look at addressing them. I offer a safe space to work through the various forms of trauma linked to Hate Crime. I always strive to work in a non-judgmental and empowering way.
TIRED OF STRUGLING WITH CULTURAL AND IDENTITY ISSUES?
Each person’s identity and sense of self is so wonderfully complex and multi-faceted. As a mixed race, woman of dual heritage, I have first-hand experience of how much of a minefield it can be making sense of our cultural heritage and identity.
WHAT I OFFER
I can offer clients a safe space where we can freely reflect on cultural influences and psychological patterns often taken on, consciously and subconsciously throughout their life. My counselling approach is Integrative, with a person-centred foundation. By having a deeper understanding of the problems faced, I aim to provide an empathic approach to addressing cultural issues in a sensitive way, that will empower the client to bring about the change they want.

Soraya Hind is a qualified counsellor who believes counselling should be accessible to everyone. She has worked with people facing a range of complex difficulties, including depression and experiences of domestic abuse.
She is a disabled, mixed-race mother and draws on her own lived experience when supporting others. Soraya recognises that race and disability are protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, yet inequality, discrimination and hate crime remain too common, and the psychological impact of such incidents often receives insufficient attention.
She offers a calm, non-judgmental space to explore the mental health effects of racism and disability-related hate crime, and supports clients in examining both external stereotypes and the beliefs they may have internalised. Soraya aims to work in an empowering way that acknowledges personal, social and intergenerational effects of racial harm.
As a mixed-race woman of dual heritage, she understands how navigating cultural identity can feel complex. Her approach is integrative with a person-centred foundation, providing an empathetic framework to reflect on cultural influences and psychological patterns taken on consciously and subconsciously throughout life. The goal is to help clients address cultural and identity concerns sensitively and to support the changes they want to make.
Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For the most common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the format that suits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to access support from different locations.
Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and clients may choose to switch therapists at any time if they would prefer a different fit. Overall, online therapy offers practical options for many common mental health and life concerns while preserving the core elements of therapeutic support.
