Ruth Burgher-Gibore is a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed to practice in both California and Florida with more than 23 years of experience in clinical care and program leadership. Her work has included therapy and counseling, case management, career counseling, crisis intervention, grief and loss counseling, and the successful management of large community-based mental health programs and clinics.
She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy to address a wide range of concerns. Those interventions are applied to individual issues such as depression and anxiety as well as relational difficulties involving communication between partners or among family members. Ruth is trained in trauma-focused approaches, including TF-CBT, and has substantial experience supporting people who are coping with trauma.
Ruth has worked with diverse populations—from young babies with their parents to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, disabled individuals, members of the LGBTQ community, other professionals, and veterans. Her practice addresses stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, grief, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, intimacy-related concerns, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting issues, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, ADHD, compassion fatigue, and coaching needs. She uses a solution-focused orientation that emphasizes practical steps and measurable progress.
