Hello my name is Robyn Petersen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma. I have provided therapy and case management to clients for 16 years. I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work from Missouri State University. I am an Air Force veteran and currently work for the VA serving veterans with Serious Mental Illness. I have experience working in hospice, community mental health, child welfare, and on an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit
I use a strength-based approach and believe that everyone’s journey is different and requires an individual approach.
My therapy style is open and genuine. I believe in treating all clients with respect, dignity and compassion. I prefer to assess for a client’s strengths and build upon the tools that a client already has. Clients are more successful when they feel supported and validated by the therapist.
I have experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, caregiver stress, veteran issues, adjustment disorders, end of life issues, aging and geriatric issues, trauma, dementia including Alzheimer’s. I use various types of treatment modalities within the therapeutic setting to include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
