Rebecca Sutherland is a Registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and brings over 25 years of professional experience.
She has experience supporting people with family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, addiction and depression. Her clinical background includes therapeutic work at a Rape Crisis Centre offering support to victims of rape and adult survivors of child sexual abuse, at an Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation unit that provided an intensive six-month residential therapeutic treatment programme, and at a Women's Refuge assisting clients who had experienced domestic and psychological abuse often alongside mental health conditions.
Rebecca treats everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. She offers online counselling opportunities designed to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients are given time and space to understand and gain insight into their situation, a process that can foster growth and lead to positive change.
She tailors dialogue and treatment plans to meet each client's specific needs. Rebecca recognises the courage involved in seeking a more fulfilling life and taking early steps toward change, and she is available to support and empower clients in that journey within a safe and containing environment.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For most common concerns - like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major advantage is flexibility. Clients can connect with their therapist in the way that feels most comfortable - through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into daily life.
Therapists are licensed professionals, and clients may switch to a different therapist at any time if they prefer a different fit.
