Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
I will work with you as a whole person to support you to create a space for change and growth. It is my belief that healing is possible. Counselling and psychotherapy is one way to begin that change you are searching for. I know that you are the expert on your own life.
In listening deeply alongside asking questions, I will reflect aspects of you which may struggle to be known. It is my job to hear what makes life difficult in all its complexity. I know the importance of feeling heard and understood in relation to another. I will work to identify the resources which emerge in the work with you. This therapy will not only be about processing the hard stuff. I find that often the journey is a matter of guiding you to find your own right balance of being.
I work with a broad range of clients from those who are struggling with deep trauma to those with less complex difficulties.
I am Psychodynamically trained in the understanding of how our histories shape us and how we might find ways to reconnect with ourselves. I also work from relational, transpersonal and somatic perspectives, tailoring what is the right approach to each client. I work using a parts based model. This means that I am conscious that all times of your life matter and need to be listened to and considered by me. I work to help you clear the blockages that prevent you being grounded in your true self.
Alongside my work as a therapist I have many years of experience working in mental health and creativity.

Polly Thelwall is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based in the United Kingdom with eight years of practice. She works with the whole person to create a space for change and growth, holding the belief that healing is possible and that counselling and psychotherapy can begin the change a client seeks.
Polly listens closely while asking thoughtful questions, reflecting aspects of a person that may struggle to be known. She aims to hear what makes life difficult in all its complexity and recognises how important it is to feel heard and understood in relation to another. Through this process she works to identify resources that emerge in the therapeutic work, noting that therapy is not only about processing painful material but also about guiding clients toward their own right balance of being.
She works with a broad range of clients, from those coping with deep trauma to people facing less complex difficulties. Polly specialises in stress, anxiety, relationship and family issues, trauma and abuse, and self-esteem concerns. She is a female, older, non-religious and liberal therapist.
Polly is psychodynamically trained in understanding how personal histories shape current experience, and she also draws on relational, transpersonal and somatic perspectives. She uses a parts-based model that recognises all stages of life matter and need attention, tailoring the approach to suit each client and helping clear blockages that prevent being grounded in the true self. Alongside her therapy work she has many years of experience working in mental health and creativity.
