Monique Parr is a licensed clinical mental health counselor practicing in North Carolina; she holds a North Carolina license to provide clinical counseling (license number 13017). She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Fayetteville State University in 2004 and completed a Master of Science in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University in 2014.
She brings six years of experience in providing therapy services, in addition to more than a decade delivering direct care and four years managing program and administrative functions. Her administrative experience includes program management, quality and compliance and risk management, human resources responsibilities, and financial reporting.
Parr views entering therapy as a personal decision that begins a collaborative therapeutic relationship where trust is central to achieving meaningful outcomes. Her role is to avoid harm, encourage change, and support clients’ choices while advocating for their needs and attending to detail. She places importance on understanding how physical, emotional, mental, social, cultural, political, and spiritual factors shape each person’s experience.
Her theoretical orientation blends holistic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, transtheoretical, and relationship-oriented approaches. She strives to create a warm, empathetic, genuine, and accepting environment that fosters autonomy and freedom of choice, invites exploration of the less visible parts of the self, and empowers clients to become their authentic selves. She looks forward to hearing from prospective clients soon.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can produce real results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is convenience and flexibility - individuals can connect in the way that suits them best, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to continue care during transitions.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if a different fit is desired. For many people facing everyday concerns, remote counseling is a practical and effective route to support and progress.
