Michele Lescard greets new clients with encouragement and respects the courage it takes to begin therapy. She emphasizes the importance of mental health as a central part of how people function through life’s unpredictable moments and congratulates those who take the first step toward healing.
With 15 years of clinical experience, Michele works with adults facing a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addictions, grief, trauma and abuse, family conflict, parenting challenges, relationship issues, self-esteem struggles, sleeping disorders, anger management, and career difficulties. She has also supported adults with special needs, including autism and intellectual disability.
Her approach is warm, empathetic, and goal-focused. Michele uses a mix of evidence-informed methods - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness practices, and Motivational Interviewing - to help clients set practical objectives and build a toolbox of coping strategies. She aims to create a non-judgmental environment where clients can explore strengths and work toward self-discovery and empowerment.
Michele believes a balanced life rests on attention to physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. She often likens these elements to strands of a rope - each necessary for resilience when life becomes challenging.
She completed her Masters in Social Work in 2002 at the University of Chapel Hill in North Carolina and now practices in Florida. Michele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida, which reflects her clinical training and professional licensure to provide therapeutic services. Originally from Miami, she currently lives in Lake Wales, FL and appreciates both Florida’s coastal lifestyle and the chance to witness striking sunrises and sunsets.
Michele welcomes people who need a compassionate professional to listen and to help guide them through change. She looks forward to supporting clients as they work toward greater healing and peace.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the primary benefits is convenience - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care when schedules or locations change.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients can request a different therapist at any time if they want a different fit. Overall, online therapy can be a practical and effective option for many people seeking support.
