Michael Broad

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a qualified counsellor in the UK and a member of the National Counselling Society. I work integratively which means my approach is tailored to the specific needs of the client I am working with. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety and depression, and enabling them to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem when they are feeling low and full of doubt. I acknowledge that early experiences can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others later in life. The relationship between counsellor and client offers the opportunity to explore these dynamics and provides a vehicle for growth and change. Initially, we will develop a practical approach to alleviating the symptoms of distress, like anxiety or overthinking. Later will come the deeper work, such as exploring difficult emotions, thoughts and relationships, and where they might have come from. I also have experience of working with addiction and supporting clients to live sober and more productive lives. I believe in responsibility and self-determinism, and that the client can be the author of their own story. Together, we will develop your resilience and foster the many strengths you already have. This will hopefully help you to manage the challenges you currently face and, ultimately, lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Signing up for therapy takes courage and you’ve taken an important first step in contacting me. I look forward to working with you.

About

Michael Broad is a qualified counsellor working in the United Kingdom and a member of the National Counselling Society. He practices using an integrative approach, adapting techniques to suit the particular needs of each person he sees.

He has experience supporting people through stress, anxiety and depression, and in helping them rebuild confidence and self-esteem when they feel low or uncertain. Michael recognises how early experiences can shape the way people relate to themselves and others later in life, and he uses the counselling relationship as a space to explore those patterns and encourage change.

Early work often focuses on practical strategies to ease distressing symptoms such as anxiety or overthinking. Over time the work can move deeper to examine difficult emotions, thoughts and relationships, and to consider where these may have originated. Michael also has experience in working with addiction and supporting clients who wish to live sober, more productive lives.

He believes in responsibility and self-determinism, and in the client as the author of their own story. Together with clients he aims to build resilience and draw out existing strengths to help manage current challenges and move toward a more fulfilling, purposeful life. Michael recognises that starting therapy takes courage and he looks forward to working with those who take that step.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and life transitions – remote therapy can be as effective as in-person work. Research and clinical experience indicate that online sessions often deliver meaningful benefits for these kinds of issues.

A major advantage is flexibility. People can meet their therapist in the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy life or to access support from different locations.

Therapists providing online care are licensed professionals, and if someone feels the match is not right they can switch therapists at any time. For many, this combination of evidence-based outcomes and practical convenience makes online therapy a viable option to consider for support.
