Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
So, I’ve been around the block. Twenty-five years in blue collar/ heavy industry working as a millwright. Going through the process of understanding myself around issues of depression, anxiety, addiction, failed relationships, dissatisfaction with my place in life. Frustration with not living up to my potential, often not realizing my potential, and too often on the path of desperation.
The journey has taken me to my current situation. I am a Masters level Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a life time of experience in that process of becoming. Learning the tools of understanding and building a stronger foundation of personal growth! I am also a professional singer & photographer, part of my emerging creative potential.
I believe we all have a gift. As Picasso stated: “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”.
My passion is guiding others toward that same journey of continued self-discovery: working through the impasses, the resistance to personal growth.
I have many tools in my toolbox:
• Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
With a focus on mindfulness
• Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Working through programmed patterns of thoughts, feelings, beliefs & behaviors that develop into a recurring cycle.
• Anger Management
• Trauma-informed Therapy
Trauma-informed care shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”
• Somatic-focused Therapy.
Specialties
Mindfulness
• Spirituality
• Stress, Anxiety
• Self esteem
• Depression
• Coping with life changes
• Sports & Performance
If this is a direction you want to go then I believe we can go on that journey together.

Michael Anderson brings a rare combination of long-term hands-on experience and clinical training to his work. He spent twenty-five years working as a millwright in heavy industry and went through his own process of understanding depression, anxiety, addiction, failed relationships, and a persistent dissatisfaction with his place in life. Those years of frustration and moments of desperation informed his decision to study and practice therapy.
He is a master’s-level clinician and a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Minnesota. That professional training builds on a lifetime of personal experience in the process of becoming, and it informs his focus on tools that promote understanding and a stronger foundation for personal growth. He is also a professional singer and photographer, pursuits that reflect an emerging creative potential he values personally and professionally.
Michael often quotes Picasso’s idea that “the meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away,” and he channels that belief into guiding others through ongoing self-discovery. He helps clients work through impasses and the resistance that can block personal growth.
His clinical toolbox includes dialectical behavioral therapy with an emphasis on mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy to identify and change recurring patterns of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, anger management, trauma-informed care that asks “What happened to you?” rather than “What’s wrong with you?” and somatic-focused approaches. He works with a wide range of concerns including stress and anxiety, addictions, trauma and abuse, depression, relationship and family conflicts, grief and intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping disorders, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, ADHD, coping with life changes, coaching needs, compassion fatigue, and support for LGBT clients.
If a practical, grounded approach to change and self-discovery is the direction someone wants to take, Michael invites them to consider beginning that journey together.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy actually helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their routines and comfort level, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistent care amidst a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide remote therapy, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they feel another fit would be better. For many people, online therapy offers a practical and effective way to access professional support without sacrificing quality of care.
