Lisa Spore has worked in Missouri’s mental health field for 12 years, with ten of those years spent as a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice. She continuously seeks training in current therapeutic techniques to refine her clinical skills and provide a high-quality experience for those she sees.
She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, and she integrates cognitive behavioral, solution-focused brief, and client-centered approaches in her work. Lisa approaches each person as an individual and adapts therapy to match their unique needs within a safe, nonjudgmental environment.
Lisa views acceptance of human limits as a way to increase responsiveness to support and encouragement during therapy. Alongside strong clinical methods, she values the role of natural healing and the mind-body connection in building a foundation for lasting personal growth and emotional health.
For Lisa, the therapeutic relationship is the central element of effective work. In sessions she collaborates with clients to identify the best strategies for their concerns and to explore emotional reactivity that may be amplifying suffering. Examining current and past experiences helps clarify how earlier events influence daily functioning, and she uses solution-focused techniques, Brainspotting, CBT, or Somatic Experiencing in various combinations to reduce distress.
She is licensed as a professional counselor in Missouri, holding the credential MO LPC 2011016318.
