Lisa Rosario is a New York-based licensed clinical social worker who brings 10 years of clinical experience to her practice.
She is a first-generation Puerto Rican Latinx woman who is fully bilingual in Spanish and bicultural. Lisa completed her bachelor’s degree at Antioch University in Ohio and earned her graduate degree at New York University. For the past nine years she has served as an adjunct professor at Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work, and she is beginning a doctoral candidacy.
Throughout her career she has worked across diverse settings with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families on a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief, depression, LGBT matters, family conflict, intimacy-related issues, eating disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, coping with life changes, coaching, compassion fatigue, and ADHD. Her clinical experience also encompasses trauma related to sexual and physical abuse, addictions, immigration-related struggles, and other life challenges.
When starting therapy Lisa explains who she is and how she works, then asks questions to understand what brought someone into treatment. She explores history, symptoms, current struggles, relationships, strengths, interests, and goals. Together with the client she assesses priorities and develops a treatment plan that outlines next steps and therapeutic methods to address the most pressing concerns. If this collaborative process feels like a good fit, Lisa and the client move forward with scheduling sessions.
Prospective clients are welcome to message her through Better Help to determine a convenient time for an initial contact. She values the step of reaching out for help and looks forward to meeting new clients. Be well and take good care.
