Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am a Clinical Social Worker in Michigan with more than 10 years of experience in a variety of settings and roles. I’ve worked with individuals and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, ASD, relationship and parenting concerns.
I think that life is like a river. Sometimes we get trapped by a rock or other obstacle in the river and struggle to get free. Sometimes the current is too fast and we can’t keep our head above water or we have lost connection with our current. We can end up on the side of the river, unable to see the next move or the way ahead.
Years of experience in a wide range of settings and roles has taught me that we all have capacity to be the catalyst for change in our life. I look forward to developing a relationship that supports building capacity and competence in navigating the river of YOUR life.

Laurie Norris is a clinical social worker based in Michigan who brings eight years of experience to her work with individuals and families. She supports people facing stress, anxiety, grief, parenting concerns, depression, navigating life changes, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, self-esteem difficulties, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
Licensed as a master-level social worker in Michigan (MI LMSW 6801091728), Laurie combines practical skills with a compassionate approach to help clients build capacity and confidence. Her practice emphasizes collaborative relationships that strengthen coping strategies and daily functioning.
Laurie often uses a river metaphor to describe life – sometimes currents feel overwhelming, obstacles can trap us, and at other times we may feel detached from a clear path forward. She works with clients to identify ways to move through those moments and to reconnect with their sense of direction, fostering growth and resilience along the way.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions – online therapy can offer benefits similar to traditional in-person care. It has been found to be an effective option for addressing these kinds of issues.
One major advantage is flexibility. People can choose the communication method that fits their life best, whether that is video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistent care even when schedules are busy.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and clients can change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. This model aims to make therapeutic support more accessible while preserving the core elements of a therapeutic relationship.
