Dr. Lara Neely is a Doctor of Behavioral Health, a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed to practice in Colorado and Texas, and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. With four years of clinical experience, she combines advanced training with hands-on work in a range of treatment settings.
Her background includes work with severely mentally ill patients in a psychiatric emergency treatment center and a community behavioral health clinic, and she has spent the majority of her time in private practice. She has treated people across the lifespan, working with clients as young as 13 and as old as 99.
Dr. Neely helps people address stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, coping with life changes, intimacy-related concerns, self-esteem challenges, relationship and family conflicts, grief, sleep disorders, parenting issues, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, and compassion fatigue. She has seen conditions from OCD to PTSD and has provided care for veterans, people experiencing homelessness, individuals with substance use histories, abusers and victims, parents and children, executives and athletes, cancer patients, EMS workers, and many others.
She has noticed increased anxiety and related concerns since the COVID pandemic, and common issues she sees include panic attacks, low mood, sleep disruption, mood swings, and in some cases increased alcohol use. She has also worked with teens reporting suicidal thoughts and with people experiencing gender dysphoria and relationship strain.
Dr. Neely approaches each person with compassion and without judgment, taking seriously the trust clients place in her. She works closely with clients to build a practical toolbox of coping strategies so daily life becomes more manageable and more fulfilling. She believes clients are the experts in their own lives and aims to support and empower them as they take the courageous steps toward change.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy can be an effective option. Research and clinical experience indicate that for these typical issues, remote sessions can be just as effective as traditional in-person care.
One of the main benefits is convenience and flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the way that best suits them - by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging - which can make it easier to keep appointments and integrate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide care through these remote formats, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. This flexibility helps many people find an approach and relationship that works for them.
Ultimately, online therapy offers practical access to skilled therapists for common mental health and relationship concerns, with options that adapt to various schedules and preferences.
