Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! Thanks for looking into me as a potential counselor. I have worked as a counselor since 2015. I have practiced as a mental health counselor, career counselor, academic counselor, and family counselor. I’ve worked to help people with issues from life/career direction issues and workplace issues to anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Additionally, I am a counselor educator so I teach counseling courses to counselors-in-training.
I believe there are some common elements of counseling that can help most people grow and overcome challenges. I support your growth by helping you better understand your thoughts and emotions, move towards trusting yourself, honestly and authentically living your life, and supporting you to accept the responsibility for your life direction.
Counseling is not easy, but it is worth the hard work. Life can be more meaningful than just surviving each day. It can be infused with hope, meaning, and thoughtful direction. I believe our work together can help you move towards this way of living.
I would be happy to work with you if you feel that my experience and beliefs connect for you!

Dr. Kirk Thiemann has practiced as a counselor since 2015 and brings a decade of experience working across multiple counseling roles. He has provided care as a mental health counselor, career counselor, academic counselor, and family counselor, helping people address concerns that range from life and career direction to workplace stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.
In addition to clinical work, he teaches counseling courses to counselors-in-training, combining hands-on practice with educator experience to inform his approach. He supports clients by helping them clarify their thoughts and emotions, build greater self-trust, and pursue an honest, authentic way of living while accepting responsibility for their life direction.
Counseling can be demanding, yet Dr. Thiemann believes the effort is worthwhile because life can move beyond mere survival to include hope, meaning, and intentional direction. He welcomes the opportunity to work with people who feel his experience and outlook are a good match for their needs.
He is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Idaho.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and practice have shown that therapists can address these issues successfully through remote sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. Clients can choose the communication method that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from different locations.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel another fit would better serve their needs. Online therapy offers an accessible way to engage with trained therapists while maintaining the structure and consistency that support meaningful progress.
