Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified trauma professional. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BSW in social work, a certificate in Addictions, and an Master’s in clinical social work. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, borderline personality disorder and depression; clients with a history of physical and psychological abuse, self harm, sexual abuse, and other traumas.
I utilize a combination of traditional talk therapy, education on how trauma affects our brains, and implementation of practical tools and action steps to achieve the changes you want to make in your life. I believe talk therapy is helpful but that it takes action to reprogram your brain’s reactions to triggers. Most clients I have worked with who are experiencing any form of anxiety believe they are crazy. I assure you it is not crazy. Your brain is meant to function in the way it does to protect you. I also wholeheartedly believe physical and mental health are intertwined. I will ask you to experiment with new techniques and reactions to triggers and difficult relationships. I provide the knowledge of tools and techniques but you are the expert on you.
Generally, I start with getting to know you and what you want to work on. We move into education on your specific diagnoses and on brain function and how we can reprogram. We begin taking small steps using tools I will teach you. All I need is for you to be willing to experiment with new techniques and reactions to difficult situations and people, and to let me know if the specific technique does not work for you so we can try another. Those steps have been as small as having clients who experience agoraphobia sit in a different room for 5 minutes, simple but not easy. I will also focus on your physical health and activity level. There is much research that shows some type of physical activity is helpful. I myself have experienced this. I am a hiker, an activity leader for the Florida Trail, and wilderness first aid certified. I hike, when I am inactive I definitely experience mood changes. If hiking is not your thing that is okay. We will find something that works for you.
10/01/25 If you have requested to work with me.. I am not refusing you. For whatever reason I receive the message and then clients are removed before I have 10 minutes to respond. Most recent disappeared in 6 minutes while I was reading the client info.

Karen Bradt is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida and a certified trauma professional with 15 years of clinical experience. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work and a certificate in Addictions from the University of Central Florida, followed by a master’s degree in clinical social work from the same university.
Her clinical work has included supporting people with anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, borderline personality disorder, and depression, as well as those who have histories of physical or psychological abuse, self-harm, sexual abuse, and other forms of trauma.
Karen blends traditional talk therapy with education about how trauma affects brain function and with practical tools and action steps designed to create lasting change. She values conversation but emphasizes that intentional practice and small behavioral changes are often necessary to retrain the brain’s reactions to triggers.
She approaches therapy as a collaborative process – providing knowledge of techniques while recognizing that each person is the expert on themselves. Her typical process begins by getting to know what a client wants to work on, offering education about specific diagnoses and brain function, and then taking small, manageable steps using the tools she teaches. Clients are asked to try new techniques and to give feedback if something does not work so an alternative can be tried. Even brief steps, such as asking a client with agoraphobia to sit in a different room for five minutes, can be meaningful.
Karen also pays attention to physical health and activity level, reflecting research that movement can support mood and recovery. She brings personal experience to that focus: she hikes regularly, serves as an activity leader for the Florida Trail, and holds a wilderness first aid certification. If hiking is not appealing, she works with clients to find other physical activities that suit them.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, online therapy can be as effective as in-person treatment. Research and clinical experience support its usefulness for these kinds of issues.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility – people can choose the way they connect that best suits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or messaging within an app. That convenience often makes it easier to maintain regular sessions and follow through on treatment plans.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many individuals, online therapy provides a practical, effective option to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns while fitting into a busy life.
