Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Counseling is a process where we can work together to bring about change or help you adjust to change that has been forced upon you, with the ultimate goal of improving your quality of life.
I am also designated as an adoption competent therapist. I enjoy working with adoptive parents, adults who were adopted, as well as, my personal heroes, the birth mothers. I have also completed training to use Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
With training in both Social Work and Accounting, I am particularly well equipped to help families as they navigate through financial challenges and deal with the relational issues that these challenges may raise.
And then there is life and sometimes it is just hard. As Mr. Rogers said, “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.” I believe that I can be that person you can trust. I never want to think of anybody being alone, holding on what they’ve been told is unmentionable.
As a friend of mine says, “Life is not a dress rehearsal.” We don’t get a do-over. Let’s work together to make the most of it!
So, contact me and let’s get together and see if I am someone who you are comfortable with. I’d love to help.

Dr. Judith (Judy) Hefren views counseling as a collaborative effort to create change or to help people adapt when change has been imposed upon them, with the ultimate aim of improving their overall quality of life. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida – a credential that reflects her professional training and authorization to provide therapy (license SW15543) – and she has 6 years of clinical experience.
She holds a designation as an adoption-competent therapist and enjoys working with adoptive parents, adults who were adopted, and birth mothers. She has also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to expand the approaches she can offer clients.
With formal training in both social work and accounting, Dr. Hefren is particularly well prepared to help families navigate financial challenges and the relationship stresses those challenges can create. Her combined background allows her to address practical concerns alongside emotional and relational issues.
As Mr. Rogers observed, “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable.” Dr. Hefren echoes that belief and aims to be the kind of clinician clients can trust when talking about difficult feelings, so those feelings feel less overwhelming and less isolating.
She also embraces a simple reminder shared by a friend – “Life is not a dress rehearsal” – and invites prospective clients to reach out to see if Dr. Judith (Judy) Hefren feels like a comfortable fit. She would welcome the opportunity to help.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One clear benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with their therapist in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to fit consistent care into a busy life.
All participating providers are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch therapists at any time if they want a different fit. For many people dealing with everyday mental health challenges, online therapy offers an accessible and effective pathway to support.
