Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I graduated from Alabama State University in 2011 with my MS in Clinical Mental health counseling. I have done a vast amount of work in all treatment modalities as well as various populations. Primarily I have worked with families, in the community, crisis and trauma centered work, as well as substance use and severe mental health illness. My drive in this field is to help individuals who are struggling to mentally get to a place of peace and be that ear that can help one process and sort out whatever struggles they may be facing where accessing family and friends is not an option. My most sought out modes of counseling that I find most effective are solution focused, Cognitive behavior, Motivational interviewing , and person centered. These modalities are typically centered around allowing my client to be heard, as well as creating a space of open dialogue for me to learn more about you, and find root causes of presenting problem and begin to explore ways to help either shift the dynamic or shift the though process of the situation to assist in making life fuller, manageable and peaceful.

Johne Mitchell earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Alabama State University in 2011 and brings eleven years of clinical experience to his practice. He has worked extensively with families, community programs, crisis and trauma-focused services, and with people managing substance use and severe mental health conditions.
His work draws on a range of therapeutic approaches that he finds effective for many clients, including solution-focused techniques, cognitive behavioral methods, motivational interviewing, and person-centered care. These approaches guide sessions that emphasize listening, collaborative problem solving, and identifying root causes of presenting concerns.
Mitchell’s aim is to help people move toward a greater sense of peace when they are struggling, especially when reaching out to family or friends is not an option. He creates a space for open dialogue where clients can explore shifts in thinking and behavior that make life more manageable and fulfilling.
He is licensed to practice in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and provides care from that base while supporting clients through a variety of life challenges and clinical concerns.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can really help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is convenience and flexibility. Clients can choose the format that fits their needs and comfort level – video sessions, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to attend regularly and stay engaged in treatment.
Therapists who practice online are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change providers if they feel another clinician would be a better match. For many people, virtual therapy makes mental health support more accessible while still offering structured, evidence-informed care.
