Iwen Chen is a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and brings six years of professional experience supporting people with stress, anxiety, relationship and family difficulties, depression, and coping with life changes.
She trained in the UK as a person-centred psychotherapist and has lived much of her adult life abroad, including time in the United Kingdom, Germany, China, and Taiwan. Working with people from diverse backgrounds has helped her appreciate the different challenges that arise at various stages of life.
Iwen practises from a person-centred framework and integrates cognitive-behavioural (CBT) techniques when they are helpful. She focuses on providing a respectful, open-minded space where clients can explore themselves, build confidence, and work toward who they want to become.
As a therapist of color who is female, gay, non-religious and liberal, Iwen offers a perspective attuned to a range of cultural and identity-related experiences while maintaining an approachable, client-centred way of working.
