Gilbert Clark is a Michigan-based therapist with seven years of clinical experience. He holds a master’s degree and maintains professional counseling licenses in both Michigan and Minnesota, and he is credentialed to work in addiction treatment as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor.
His training includes studies at the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies and additional education through the Mayo Clinic, which together inform a holistic view of wellness. He has worked across a variety of treatment settings with diverse clients and understands that care is most effective when it is individualized and respectful of each person’s needs.
Gilbert uses an eclectic, person-centered approach that draws from cognitive techniques, mindfulness-based practices, narrative therapy, and solution-focused methods. He also brings a creative element to his work: he writes, records, and performs original music, specializing in recovery-oriented material. These creative and experiential modalities support a compassionate, trauma-informed therapeutic style.
He specializes in addiction treatment and recovery, guiding clients through initial substance use assessments, each phase of recovery, and toward ongoing wellness and maintenance. Gilbert is also committed to mental health healing more broadly and works with relationship and familial challenges, supports families seeking help for loved ones, and assists with self-exploration and trauma recovery.
