Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My philosophy for counseling is that the answers lie in you, the client. My role is to guide, educate, “cheerlead” and advocate. I have over twenty five years of experience working with substance abuse, LGBTQIA, anxiety, depression, trauma, communication issues and relationships. My masters degree is from the University of Phoenix where I also teach in the counseling department for the last eighteen years, in person and and on-line. I utilize Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Existential, Choice/Reality theory, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused approach. The greatest joy I get from my work is to see an individual grow and discharge from counseling after achieving their goal. Essentially, my goal is to “put myself out of work” by empowering you!

Gary Zarchy believes the answers are within each client, and that his role is to guide, educate, “cheerlead” and advocate as they find their path forward. He draws on a collaborative, supportive style to help people explore options and build the skills needed to meet their goals.
He brings 25 years of clinical experience working with substance use concerns, LGBTQIA individuals, anxiety, depression, trauma, communication and relationship difficulties, family conflicts, grief, intimacy-related issues, anger management, self-esteem, career struggles, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, addictions, coaching needs and compassion fatigue. He practices in Arizona and is a licensed professional counselor in the state – holding the credential AZ LPC LPC-10642. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and has taught in that school’s counseling department for the past eighteen years, offering both in-person and online instruction.
Gary integrates Person-Centered Therapy with Cognitive Behavioral, Existential, Choice/Reality theory, Motivational Interviewing and a Solution-Focused approach to tailor work to each individual. His greatest satisfaction comes from watching people grow and eventually discharge from counseling after achieving their objectives. In essence, his aim is to “put himself out of work” by empowering clients to continue successfully on their own.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For most common concerns – like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which often makes it easier to fit counseling into a busy schedule and to maintain consistent progress.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. Online therapy offers a practical, adaptable way to access skilled therapists for many common mental health and life concerns.
