Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Fiona. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.I am a qualified and experienced counsellor. My main area of experience has been with the rape crisis centre working with men, women and children who have suffered rape or sexual abuse. I have also spent a number of years working in women’s refuges providing counselling to women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
My training was integrative meaning that I can draw upon different theories to tailor my approach to suit you. However, the most important aspect for me is the therapeutic relationship which I believe enables you to explore, in a safe and contained way, those thoughts and feelings which may be troubling you and to gently discover the origin of these through looking at early life experiences. A shared understanding of any difficulties you may be experiencing may help you to identify patterns of behaviour and see the way to make changes. I work towards offering you warmth and empathy and a safe non-judgmental space within which to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
Sessions are normally 45 minutes long and I have a flexible approach so that you can decide whether to see me weekly, fortnightly or monthly. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me and I aim to offer you a space where you will be properly heard and understood.

Fiona Wetherell is a qualified and experienced counsellor with 8 years of practice, specialising in supporting people affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse. Her main experience comes from working at a rape crisis centre with men, women and children who have suffered rape or sexual abuse, and from several years providing counselling to women and children in women’s refuges after domestic abuse.
Her training is integrative, allowing her to draw on different therapeutic models and tailor the approach to fit each person’s needs. Fiona places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of her work, believing it creates a safe, contained environment in which clients can explore troubling thoughts and feelings and gently trace their origins by examining early life experiences.
Developing a shared understanding of difficulties can help identify patterns of behaviour and reveal routes to change. She aims to offer warmth and empathy and to provide a non-judgmental space where clients can make sense of their emotions.
Sessions are normally 45 minutes long and she maintains a flexible approach so clients may choose to meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Fiona strives to ensure people feel properly heard and understood throughout the therapeutic process.
Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or major life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with a therapist in whatever format suits them best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if a client decides they would prefer a different fit they may switch therapists at any time.
