Esther Mordant

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a psychodynamic therapist. I am registered with the BACP in the UK and have 7 years of professional work experience. My background is in higher education and business.

I work with individuals, couples and young people (aged 12-21). I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & coping with grief and loss. I work with my clients to create an open and empowering environment where thoughts, memories and feelings can be shared freely. The emphasis is on growth and problem resolution in a safe and supportive environment.

I work with the unconscious mind, so pay a lot of attention to such things as gut feelings, intuitions, dreams and moments of insight we all get. I am interested in my clients’ childhoods and relationships with their parental families, as well as any generational patterns or traumas they share with them.

I love working with people of all ages who are committed to change and to making a difference in their own lives, people in trying circumstances who are committed to overcoming them and growing through them.

I hold certificates in couple counselling, bereavement counselling and adoption-support counselling in addition to my professional qualifications. When I am not working at my private practice I am volunteering for two counselling charities helping young people.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life. Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch therapists if they would prefer a different fit. Online therapy can therefore provide accessible, professional support while accommodating individual needs and circumstances.
