Elia Duncan recognises that reaching out for support is a significant and often courageous step, and he aims to make that process approachable and respectful.
He has worked as a psychotherapist in private practice for 8 years, seeing clients in the UK (London and East Sussex) and internationally. Over that time he has supported people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and sexualities.
Elia works with grief, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and confidence issues. His specialisms include supporting men healing from difficult relationships or managing the effects of divorce, and helping individuals who are negotiating racial or sexual identity concerns. Drawing on experience in education counselling, he also works with adults with ADHD/ADD.
Much of his specialist work focuses on helping people clarify their values and boundaries and on nurturing a healthier relationship with themselves.
He also supports clients who are adjusting to significant life changes and those seeking personal strength and stability in the context of COVID, climate change and wider anxieties about the state of the world.
Elia believes that a warm, trusting therapeutic relationship is as important as the clinical skills he brings. He is happy to answer questions and to discuss whether he is the right fit for someone’s needs.
