Dayna Pitzer

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

At the start of 2022 I realized that through BetterHelp I could finally reach my goal to work private practice full – time. Through my career, I have primarily worked with adults in various settings, but in 2016 shifted my dedication to teenagers in the criminal justice system. I have Hospice experience which is where I gained my passion for grief and loss as well as dealing with phase of life changes. This hit home to me hard, in 2016 as I watched and cared for my mother who battled Ovarian Cancer. She passed away November 2019 and I took a step back from my private practice work and just focused on my healing as well as my work at the Juvenile Center. In August of 2020, I started back up with private practice and did this with BetterHelp. Once 2022 hit, I was ready to transition from working with teens in the juvenile justice system and the parents of juvenile delinquency, to taking a step with BetterHelp full time. I have experience with inpatient psychiatric care, crisis intervention, hospice, and chronic medical illness, as well as a wide range of mental health and relationship issues. I have a passion for helping people find peace of mind and strength to work on the challenges that they are facing.

About

Dayna Pitzer is a licensed clinical social worker with 18 years of experience who has built a career helping adults and adolescents navigate a wide range of challenges.

Throughout her career she has practiced in varied settings and in 2016 shifted her focus to working with teenagers involved in the juvenile justice system. Her hospice work deepened her interest in grief, loss, and life transitions, a focus that became personally meaningful while she cared for her mother during a battle with ovarian cancer beginning in 2016.

After her mother passed in November 2019, Dayna stepped back from private practice to focus on her healing while continuing work at the juvenile center. She resumed private practice in August 2020 and began offering services through BetterHelp, and in 2022 she transitioned to working in private practice full time through that service.

Her background also includes inpatient psychiatric care, crisis intervention, hospice support, and experience with chronic medical illness, informing a practical approach to mental health and relationship concerns. Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. A key benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their needs, including video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to schedule care around work, family, and other commitments. Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if someone decides a different therapist would be a better fit they can switch at any time. For those seeking a practical, accessible way to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns, online therapy is a viable option worth considering.
