Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am licensed in the UK with 16 years of professional work experience. I have experience and a passion for helping clients with compassion fatigue. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
My experience is extensive and varied with careers in retail, a business owner in the construction industry for 20 years and more recently working as a manager in the voluntary sector with homeless young adults and unpaid carers. I have volunteered in a Hospice supporting bereaved relatives and as a business mentor for the Princes Trust.
I have experience of working with people from a diverse range of ages, backgrounds and life experiences. Through this work I have come to realise that the difficulties clients bring may have a common theme such as depression, anxiety, an unlived life, relationship difficulties and financial issues to name a few, however, how they manifest in your life and how you manage them is unique to you.
We are often too close to our difficulties to be objective and find a way through, friends and family may want to help but similarly are too close, or you may be alone with no one to turn to.
By creating a safe, confidential space I offer you a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing or the outcomes you are looking for, with another human being from outside your day-to-day life. Together we will explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives and a new understanding of yourself and your own unique path.
My approach to counselling and coaching is humanistic (which means relational) within a transpersonal framework (which is beyond the person. This allows for metaphor, symbolism, dreams, images and stories to expand beyond the spoken word) I integrate my counselling and coaching skill set with a soulful perspective and tailor our sessions in a way that meets your needs.

David Spivey is licensed in the United Kingdom and brings 16 years of professional experience to his counselling and coaching practice. He has a particular interest in supporting people experiencing compassion fatigue and strives to create an open, non-judgmental space where thoughts and feelings can be shared freely.
Taking the first step toward a happier, more fulfilling life often requires courage – David is available to accompany and support clients through that process. His background is varied, including roles in retail, running a construction business for 20 years, and more recent work as a manager in the voluntary sector supporting homeless young adults and unpaid carers.
David has volunteered in a hospice assisting bereaved relatives and has served as a business mentor for the Princes Trust. He has worked with people from a broad range of ages, backgrounds and life experiences, and recognises that common themes such as depression, anxiety, an unlived life, relationship strain and financial pressures may underlie the difficulties people bring.
Because it can be hard to see a way through problems when you are close to them – and because friends and family are often too involved to offer the perspective you need – David offers a safe, confidential space to reflect on the issues you are facing and the outcomes you want. Working together, he aims to help clients discover fresh perspectives and a new understanding of their own path.
His approach is humanistic – relational in focus – and operates within a transpersonal framework that allows for metaphor, symbolism, dreams, images and stories to be explored beyond the spoken word. He integrates counselling and coaching skills with a soulful perspective and adapts sessions to meet each person’s needs.

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can genuinely help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or managing life changes, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most situations.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that suits them best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and if someone feels a different match would work better they may switch therapists at any time.
