Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am Leeann Mickel, I have a masters degree in educational psychology with an emphasis on community counseling. I have my LPC, licensed professional counselor Masters level. I also have an LC DC licensed chemical dependency counselor. I have worked 20 + years in the field of service. I have had great success with clients who have experienced significant trauma. I have been Clinical Supervisor for a substance abuse residential setting. I am currently Clinical Director for the agency with whom I am employed
at this time. I believe it to be my mission helping and serving. My approach is client centered we start where you are. I am very laid-back and personable, I have forever been told how easy it is to talk to me, even prior to my chosen career! That’s a plus when you’re a therapist! I have some clients who simply need an ear and guidance. Others are eager to get to the cause of what prompted them to reach out. Either is great. I understand that some people need to vent and receive professional advice. I tell all of my clients you have inside you now everything you need to heal and progress. My job is to guide you on the journey in this process of self discovery and healing. I also tell my clients that I will work just as hard as you in doing this, but I will never work harder. This would cause more harm by handicapping them if others around never allow my clients to learn through experience, and rob my client of demonstrating to themselves the opportunity to see how capable they actually are. I have worked with many populations: adolescents, adults with variety of disorders/conditions. Such as mental health diagnosis like depression, bi polar, anxiety, and PTSD. For the last six years I have led our adolescent program. I’m very familiar with self harming behaviors, and have a knack of being able to reach them and slowly process into self love. I also have extensive experience with grief which may look different and feel different among different clients. Even those who believe that have mourned and grieved, but truly have not. I look forward to working with you and helping you along your specific path. My schedule is very flexible, as a I only work from home, virtually/remote. During therapy it will be common to give ‘experiments’ following a session. The purpose for this is taking from our sessions and applying what you learn to your ‘real life’ outside of one session weekly for an hour.

Cynthia Mickel holds a master’s degree in educational psychology with an emphasis on community counseling and carries professional licensure as a masters-level counselor and as a licensed chemical dependency counselor. She brings 20 years of experience working in behavioral health and substance use treatment, and she currently serves as the Clinical Director for the agency with which she is employed.
Earlier in her career she served as a Clinical Supervisor in a residential substance abuse setting, and for the last six years she has led the agency’s adolescent program. Cynthia has worked with adolescents and adults across a range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, self-harming behaviors, and grief.
Her approach is client-centered and begins where each person is in their journey. She is known for a laid-back, personable style that makes it easier for many people to open up. Some clients seek listening and guidance, while others want to explore deeper causes; Cynthia works with either approach and emphasizes that clients already possess internal resources for healing while she guides and supports the process. She also makes clear that she will work alongside clients but will not do the work for them, so clients can learn and demonstrate their capabilities through experience.
All of Cynthia’s work is conducted remotely from her home office, and she maintains a flexible schedule. It is common in her practice to suggest practical ‘experiments’ or exercises to try between weekly one-hour sessions so that insights from sessions can be applied to everyday life.
For many everyday concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adapting to life changes – remote therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience indicate that common issues are often well addressed through virtual counseling with trained professionals.
One major benefit of online therapy is convenience. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that suits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility helps make regular care more manageable alongside work, parenting, and other responsibilities.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and if a particular therapeutic fit is not ideal, clients generally have the option to switch to a different therapist. For many people, remote therapy provides an accessible and practical way to begin or continue mental health work without sacrificing quality of care.
