Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Christine Abrams and I am glad you are reaching out through BetterHelp to make a positive change in your life. Therapy can be a great resource and support. The best therapy happens where there is a high level of trust between you and the counselor, so it’s important to find a therapist who will be a good fit for you and the type of concerns you have.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, I have been providing therapy in community mental health centers, agencies, and colleges throughout my career. I have also managed therapy programs and provided supervision for counselors to obtain professional licensure. In over 35 years of providing therapy, I have worked with individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. I have worked with people who come in with concerns like stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, life changes, and parenting issues. Working through those challenges presents great opportunity for personal growth!
The therapy I provide is based in client centered and family systems theories, while integrating other approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. This work is active and individualized. We discuss your concerns, develop priorities, and work together to accomplish your goals. I like to generate lots of options for clients to get the most out of our time together, so we may use books, helpful apps, or creative activities (like art or writing). All these would be specifically chosen for your unique concerns and interests. Since much of my training is in family work, I think about people in the context of their relationships, environment, and culture. I often ask about those topics, looking for the strengths in your life that we can harness and apply to your current concerns.
I am looking forward to talking with you, helping you to develop positive strategies, and celebrating as you move forward!

Christine Abrams is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania with 35 years of clinical experience. She has provided therapy in community mental health centers, agencies, and college settings, and has managed therapy programs while supervising counselors pursuing professional licensure.
Over the course of her career she has worked with people of all ages and backgrounds, addressing concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship and family conflicts, parenting challenges, addictions, trauma and abuse, grief, anger, self-esteem, ADHD, compassion fatigue, and coping with life changes. She views these challenges as opportunities for growth and collaborates with clients to pursue meaningful change.
Her therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered and family systems perspectives, with integration of cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness. Christine practices active, individualized therapy: she and a client discuss concerns, set priorities, and work together to reach goals. She often offers a range of options tailored to each person’s needs and interests, including recommended books, useful apps, or creative activities such as art or writing.
Because much of her training emphasizes family-focused work, Christine considers people in the context of their relationships, environment, and culture, and she routinely explores those areas to identify strengths that can be applied to current concerns. She looks forward to supporting clients as they develop practical strategies and make progress toward their goals.
Many people wonder whether virtual therapy truly helps. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility. People can connect with their therapist in the format that works best for them – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals deliver care through these options, and clients have the ability to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be helpful. Online therapy offers a convenient way to access skilled therapists while maintaining the same focus on effective, evidence-informed approaches to common mental health concerns.
