Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I have undertaken extensive training to become an Integrative Counsellor, which means I am able to draw on a range of different therapeutic models during the course of therapy. Counselling with me will involve authentic communication in which you will feel that you are being listened to and understood. In time, as you become secure in our therapeutic relationship, you will hopefully become more comfortable and find it easier to go deeper. Together, we will explore some of your past and present hurts and traumas and hopefully process them in a way that will bring healing in a lasting way.
More in-depth.
I have been trained as a REMA therapist, and as such believe that we are;
Relational
– As human beings we are deeply relational; being attuned with ourselves, others and the environment is key to healthy living.
Embodied
– Our mind, emotions, spirituality and sexuality are all contained within a human body and when one or more of these aspects are in turmoil, it can affect us in a very real and physical way. It is important to pay attention to what our body might be telling us.
Meaning-Making
– As humans, we strive for meaning and when life feels meaningless, we are bound to hopelessness. It is important that we process life events and allow meaning to be found.
Agentic
– Self-awareness lies at the very heart of what it means to be agentic. Unless we know why we do what we do, we can not have any control over what we do. If we have no control, we can not choose; if we can not choose, we are mere spectators. Ever get angry or frustrated and then wonder why? Proper reflection and processing of our actions will allow for growth in self-awareness, in turn resulting in becoming truly agentic.
Often when we get stuck in life and find ourselves needing help, it will be due to something not being right in one or more of these aspects of ourselves- often due to trauma, whether it be recent or in childhood. As your counsellor it would be my aim to journey with you and through authentic communication and the use of therapeutic techniques, bring healing to these aspects- hopefully leaving you feeling more balanced and whole as a person!

Chris Rottcher trained extensively as an integrative counsellor and draws on a range of therapeutic models throughout the course of therapy. Sessions with Chris focus on authentic communication so that clients feel listened to and understood.
As the therapeutic relationship becomes more secure, clients may grow more comfortable and find it easier to explore deeper issues. Together they can examine past and present hurts and traumas and work to process them in ways intended to support lasting healing and greater balance.
Chris is also trained as a REMA therapist and works from several core principles. He emphasises the relational nature of human beings – recognising that attunement with oneself, others and the environment is important to healthy living. He attends to the embodied experience – acknowledging that mind, emotions, spirituality and sexuality are all contained within the body and that bodily signals can be meaningful in therapy. He supports meaning-making – helping people process events so that meaning can be discovered and hopelessness reduced. He encourages agency – cultivating self-awareness so clients can better understand their actions, gain control and make conscious choices rather than remain passive observers.
When people become stuck, it is often due to difficulties in one or more of these areas, frequently linked to trauma whether recent or arising from childhood. As a counsellor, Chris aims to journey alongside clients and, through authentic communication and the application of therapeutic techniques, to promote healing that helps them feel more whole and balanced.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can connect in the way that suits them best – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists providing online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful.
