Anthony Welsh’s aim is simple - to help people take back control of their own mental health. He offers a calm, empathic presence and works in a genuinely non-judgemental way to support each person he sees.
He has experience supporting a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety and depression, low self-esteem and long-term illness, and is comfortable bringing creative approaches into sessions due to his artistic interests. He is always willing to introduce creativity into the therapeutic space when it may be helpful.
Anthony is a BACP Registered counsellor and completed his counselling qualification at the University of Essex. He also holds a BA (Hons) degree in Humanities and Philosophy from Birkbeck, University of London. With five years of practice, he seeks to combine professional training with a warm, understanding approach.
Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, evidence indicates that online therapy can be as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.
A major benefit is the flexibility it offers - clients can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into an everyday schedule.
Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and if a different fit is needed it is possible to switch to another therapist. For many people, the combination of convenience and professional support makes online therapy a practical and effective route to getting help.
