I have a Ph.D in Psychology,and I am currently licensed as a Professional Counselor in Georgia,and also certified as a National Certified Counselor. I have my Private Practice,and have had Contracts with various agencies. I have 30+ years of experience in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, with clients of all ages ( mostly adolescents and adults ). My experience consists of office management, providing consultations, supervising interns, assessing and treating a variety of mental health and dual diagnoses. For example, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, PTSD, OCD, personality disorders, and dual disorders (mental illness and substance abuse). I provide individual, Group and Family therapy to children, adolescents ,Adults and Geriatrics.
The modalities I usually utilize are cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. With 36 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment, Dr. Malik maintains a private practice and has held contracts with a variety of agencies. Her work has included office management, providing consultations, supervising interns, and assessing and treating a wide range of mental health and dual diagnoses.
She has treated clients across the lifespan, with a primary focus on adolescents and adults, and also provides services to children and older adults. Her clinical experience covers depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, OCD, personality disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
